Wireless solution offers high-quality live streaming at low cost. Sony’s network receive station, the PWS-110RX1, can accept live video and audio directly from a vast array of supported Sony camcorders & adaptors via a single 4G/LTE, Wi-Fi or wired network. The no-recurring-fee network RX Station delivers uncommonly high quality HD streams utilizing Sony's unique QoS (quality of service) technology, or MPEG2-TS to maintain video and audio integrity during transmission. Each PWS-110RX1 unit can simultaneously control two SDI outputs: these can be used to live stream from two locations at the same time. Multiple systems can be added for greater input and output loads.

The unit includes reference and timecode input connectors, which enable synchronized operation with broadcast systems. In addition, it can output in a variety of broadcast formats, including 1080i. The PWS-110RX1 system comes with pre-installed Connection Control Manager software that enables easy connection to camcorders & adaptors and delivers efficient handling of the live streams. An array of Sony’s supported camcorders can stream to the PWS-110RX1, along with Sony adapators that accept standard HD-SDI sources. For 4G/LTE streaming, a 4G/LTE dongle (sold separately) and 4G/LTE carrier service is required and for Wi-Fi connectivity, a CBK-WA02 dongle is required (sold separately). For hard wired Ethernet connections, Sony adaptors & some cameras require a CBK-NA1 (sold separately).

Live streaming video and audio direct from Sony supported camcorders & adaptors using 4G/LTE, Wi-Fi or wired Ethernet networks in a variety of broadcast formats, including 1080i and 720p. The system can handle live streams each, from 0.5-6Mpbs. Supported cameras use a 4G/LTE/Wi-Fi dongle or CBK-NA1 ethernet adapter, and non supported devices can use the CBK-WA100 and CBK-WA101 adpators along with a 4G/LTE/Wi-Fi dongle or CBK-NA1 Ethernet adapter.

The Connection Control Manager software enables easy connection to camcorders and delivers efficient handling of the live streams. The software is pre-installed on the PWS-110RX1 and presents a comprehensive GUI that can be used, for example, to view thumbnails from multiple camcorders; to control camcorder connections, transmission bit rates, and latency settings; and to monitor output from multiple PWS-110RX1 units.

The PWS-110RX1 uses Sony's unique QoS (quality of service) technology or MPEG2-TS to maintain video and audio integrity during transmission. Packet loss during streaming can degrade image quality, cause image freezing, and disrupt the audio.
