The 4-400A and 4-400C are intended for use as amplifiers, oscillators or
modulators. The low grid-plate capacitance of these tetrodes couples
with their low driving power requirement allow considerable
simplification of the associated circuit and driver stage.
They
are cooled by radiation from the plate and by circulation of forced-air
through the base, around the envelope, and over the plate seal. Cooling
can be greatly simplified by using the SK410 Air System socket and its
accompanying glass chimney.
