Fingerprinting is a technology that allows identifying specific media to
 generate report and statistic: when and where the content was 
broadcasted. 
A typical application is the control of political 
announcement during election period, where the Fingerprinting allows 
controlling the number of ADV broadcasted by political parties and its 
compliancy with rules.
Fingerprinting is the process of extracting 
unique characteristics of the content. This unique characteristic is 
used to identify the media. When the Fingerprint of the input source 
matches with a Fingerprint in the database, detection is registered and 
reported.
The comparison can be done with the content stored on customers database and also with database on Internet.
